The Arabian Posse, or TAP Boyz, is a Chicago-based Arab-American street gang or "movement" formed on the corner of 63rd & Kedzie in 1992. It was formed in response to anti-Arab sentiment from rival gangs in the hub of the Arab-American community which was 63rd and Kedzie at the time. The "movement" was to protect the Arab-American (mostly Palestinian American) from being attacked in racially motivated assaults.[1][3][2] The TAP Boyz formed in 1992 and lasted until 1999 in South Suburban areas of Chicago. Most members were high school teenagers from southside high schools such as Hubbard, Bogan, Reavis, Oak Lawn, Andrew, Stagg, and Argo. Most members grew out of the gang lifestyle and went on to do more positive things in life than fighting with their arch rivals the KGBs of 71st & Pulaski. .[4] Their gang colors are Red and White. [5] The gang symbol is four pointed star.[4][6]
